Summer is here, and people are getting outside to enjoy all the outdoor activities this season offers. Every year, one big problem is toenail fungus. People tend to walk about barefoot during summer. Many walk on damp grounds around the pool, locker room, or beach. Some simply have sweaty feet. Don’t worry! Dr. Robitaille is here to help.

USING NAIL POLISH TO FIGHT FUNKY NAILS

Dr. Robitaille offers several treatment options. To start with, she provides two types of nail polish for fungal treatment.

The first is Dr. Remedy. This anti-fungal nail polish is doctor-formulated to combat dry, brittle, discolored nails. It comes in assorted colors and includes a base coat polish and restoration topcoat nail polish. It also provides a nourishing vegan non-allogenic formula free of animal products.

The second is DaniPro anti-fungal nail polish. It comes in a variety of colors. Whether you have beautiful nails or nails you’d prefer to hide, DaniPro nail polish is chip-resistant, and the only doctor-formulated nail polish infused with Undecylenic Acid.

DaniPro is also better for your nails, as it is free from harmful chemicals. You can have healthier looking, stronger, more beautiful nails with DaniPro’s doctor-created formulation.

LASER TREATMENT

Dr. Robitaille also offers two kinds of laser treatment. Laser is the safest and most comfortable option for treating fungal toenail infections. It is an efficient way to destroy fungal invaders and other bacteria. The laser energy passes through the nail tissue and hits the underlying fungus directly. It reaches the fungus more efficiently and effectively than topical medications, without the side effects of oral antifungal medications.

Once you eradicate the fungus, a new healthy nail can grow out to replace the once-infected nail.

Dr. Robitaille can offer treatment with a Hyper Blue laser or Remy Laser. Both procedures are quick treatments with little or no discomfort and are performed as an outpatient service with no anesthesia. No drugs or topical ointments eliminate the total-body side effects of traditional oral medications. The laser treatment is safe and effective, and most patients usually improve after their first treatment.
