Dr. Robitaille is out to be an Ironman! Or is that Ironwoman? Dr. Robitaille will be participating in the Augusta Ironman 70.3 on September 29th, but that wasn’t enough for her. With the help of the Scott Rigsby Foundation Dr. Robitaille has set out to raise $1,500 to pay for a Wounded Warrior to enter the Ironman as well! Not only that, but the money raised will also help pay for that Wounded Warrior’s transportation to and from the event as well as stay and associated travel.
So what is a Wounded Warrior Project?
Wounded Warrior Project began when veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need. What started as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life. The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization.
Mission
The mission of Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors.
Purpose
To raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured service men and women aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
