Our Doctors

Dr. Melissa Robitaille

Dr. Robitaille is a native of Montreal, Canada. She graduated from Barry University, School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, FL with honors. Dr. Robitaille completed extensive foot and ankle surgical training at Emory Northlake Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Robitaille is a member of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and is a faculty member of the prestigious Podiatry Institute. She speaks and lectures across the country on foot & ankle pathology and treatment.

Dr. Robitaille is an avid runner and enjoys the great outdoors. Dr. Robitaille grew up in Montreal, Canada with five brothers and sisters, one of which is Dr. Robitaille’s twin sister Melinda. Dr. Robitaille’s parents were musicians practicing in the Montreal Symphony orchestra, so she grew up with a strong love for classical music.

Dr. Todd Newsom

Dr. Newsom is a native of Valparaiso, Indiana. He graduated from Barry University, School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, FL with honors. Dr. Newsom also completed extensive foot & ankle surgical training at the Miami VA and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Dr. Newsom has advanced training in nerve disorders of the foot & leg. He is also a certified wound care specialist. Dr. Newsom practices at the Pooler office location.

Dr. Newsom is a member of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.

Our Staff

Stevie Way

Stevie Way is the Office Manager at Atlantic Foot and Ankle Specialists where he is responsible for the office operations and the billing department. Prior to taking on his role at AFAS, Stevie spent time in the United States Military supporting our troops and protecting our country. His mission for helping and assisting others toward better heath is of upmost importance. It is an accomplished feeling when he can put a smile on a patient’s face no matter the circumstance. He loves podiatry because it’s one of the most valuable parts of the anatomy; It’s ever changing

Mayra Vargas

Mayra Vargas is our Front Desk Coordinator and the hub of our organization at Atlantic Foot and Ankle Specialists. She is the first and last person you see and is a valuable part of the operations. Mayra has a passion for her position and loves assisting people with booking appointments and answering the patient’s concerns and/or questions. Her organizational skills, as well as assisting our patience as they enter our place of business is beyond excellent. Mayra holds a Pharmacy Tech License and isfluentin Spanish. She loves spending time with her family when she is at home.

Zachary Wilkey

Zachary Wilkey is the Medical Assistant at Atlantic Foot and Ankle Specialists. He comes to us as a licensed nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the State of GA. Prior to AFAS, Zach spent over a year as a 911 EMT Tech gaining many hours of experience with the general public. In his spare time, he likes to go hiking, backpacking, and experiencing as much of the world as he can.He always says, “Life is too short to stay indoors or work yourself to death”; enjoy life while you can!

Brenda Heeke

Brenda Heeke is our part-time Management Assistant at Atlantic Foot and Ankle Specialists. She supports the back office in the administrative areas of the business. She takes pride in providing the best of her talents, ideas and assets, and is driven by wanting to make a difference in the success of the company. She comes to us from the Boeing Company at Kennedy Space Center Florida where she spent 25+ years in a position she had a passion for. She has a bachelor’s degree with a major in administration. She loves spending time with family and friends.
