What is Ganglion Cyst?
A ganglion cyst is a fluid filled sac containing a jellylike fluid that originates from a tendon sheath or joint capsule. Ganglion cysts are a very common, benign soft-tissue mass. They most often occur on or around the wrist. However, they are also frequently found on the top or dorsum of the foot. Ganglion cysts may vary in size and they may resolve themselves over time.
What are the signs and symptoms of Ganglion Cyst?
Symptoms which may occur in some persons with flexible flatfoot, include:
- Pain in the heel, arch, ankle, or along the outside of the foot
- Fatigue or aching in the foot and leg
- The ankle itself will have the appearance of being rolled in
- A flexible flatfoot if left untreated also associated with the lower back, hips and knee pain.
